How to buy bedding for someone else
Four minutes of reading, and you will not get it wrong.
Start with the bed, not the bedroom
Size is the only thing worth checking, and you rarely need to ask. Most UK homes sleep on a double, so it is the safe default. Couples who have moved recently are usually on a king. Student flats and guest rooms are single. If you get it wrong, we swap the size free of charge, so the risk is close to nil.
Colour is easier than it looks
When in doubt, buy the neutral. White, Cream and Grey work in a rented flat and a period house alike, and they never clash with what is already in the room. Save Terracotta, Olive and Navy for people whose homes you have actually seen. A neutral set with one bold pillowcase pair is a good compromise if you want the gift to feel considered rather than safe.
Spend where it is felt
A pillowcase pair at £40 reads as thoughtful. An Essentials Set at £170 reads as generous, because it replaces everything on the bed at once, which is exactly the job people put off for years. Between the two, there is very little that a bundle does not cover. Match the tier to the occasion: pillowcases for a thank you, a set for a wedding or a new home.
Buy quality, not the number on the box
Thread count is a weak signal, and inflated counts usually mean thinner yarn. Long staple cotton, a proper weave and a hem that survives washing matter far more. That is what we buy. The person opening it will not read the label. They will notice how it feels in week three.

When is the last order date for gift delivery?+
Order by 20 December, 3pm for delivery before Christmas. Standard delivery is 2 to 4 working days.
Does it arrive in a gift box?+
Yes. The set is folded into a rigid keepsake box with tissue, a ribbon and a blank card. Add a message at checkout and we write it in, or leave it blank and write it yourself.
Can they return or exchange a gift?+
Yes. Anything bought from 1 November can be exchanged until 31 January. The order number printed on the gift card is enough, no receipt needed. Refunds go back to whoever paid.
What size should I buy if I am not sure?+
Buy for the bed, not the room. Double is the safe choice for most UK homes, king for couples in a newer build. Our size guide covers single through super king, and sizes can be swapped free of charge if you guess wrong.
Can I send it straight to them?+
Yes. Enter their address at checkout and tick gift delivery. No prices appear on the packing slip, and you get the tracking link rather than them.
