The fabric

Pure cotton, woven silky

Plenty of budget bedding is polyester or a poly-blend. Ours is always 100% cotton, and it feels it.

Bedable · 100% cotton

  • Breathes, so you sleep cooler
  • Absorbs moisture and stays dry
  • Softens with every wash, for years not months
  • Natural, long-staple cotton fibre
  • Gentle, low-static against skin

Polyester bedding

  • Traps heat and sleeps hot
  • Wicks poorly, can feel clammy
  • Roughens and pills over time
  • Synthetic, made from plastic
  • Prone to static cling

A fluid, cool-to-the-touch surface that glides over you.

Beautiful Drape

Weighted to fall and fold beautifully across the bed.

Subtle Sheen

A soft, natural lustre that looks quietly luxurious.

A gentle warmth that feels indulgent to sink into.

The quality truth

Thread count, decoded

The biggest number on the label rarely makes the best bed. Here's what actually decides how sateen feels against your skin.

Ours: 460
200300400500600+

Where quality sateen lives (around 300 to 500)

Push past the sweet spot and the count is only climbed by stacking plies and packing threads tighter. You gain weight, warmth and cost, not comfort. The four-figure numbers are a spec sheet, not a better sleep.

It's the yarn, not the number

We spin long-staple cotton into fine 80s and 100s yarns. That is where sateen gets its silky hand, soft drape and gentle sheen, and a figure on a label can never tell you that.

"Egyptian" is just a place

A loosely policed label, often stretched to mean more than it does. What matters is long-staple fibre, exactly what we use, so the country name is marketing, not better sleep.

Better yarn beats a bigger number, every time.

A note from our founder

Premium, without the premium price

When I looked at what a premium cotton bedding set costs (sometimes £300 or more), I couldn't see where the money was going. Not into better cotton. Into the label, the shop floor, the markup.

So we built Bedable to sell the same long-staple cotton, woven to the same quality, at a price that reflects the fabric and nothing else. Free UK delivery and free returns, 30 days to change your mind, and a 365-day guarantee against faults, because if we're right about the quality, we've nothing to hide.

  • Direct, never resold. We sell straight to you. There's no department store adding a wholesale margin on top of the price.
  • No brand tax. You pay for the cotton and the craft, not a designer label stitched over the top and charged back to you.
  • The same feeling and comfort. Long-staple cotton, a 460 thread count, a true sateen weave. The quality the premium names charge £300 and up for.

The same feeling and comfort. For less. Better sheets, better sleep, and a better morning after.
