The biggest number on the label rarely makes the best bed. Here's what actually decides how sateen feels against your skin.
Where quality sateen lives (around 300 to 500)
Push past the sweet spot and the count is only climbed by stacking plies and packing threads tighter. You gain weight, warmth and cost, not comfort. The four-figure numbers are a spec sheet, not a better sleep.
It's the yarn, not the number
We spin long-staple cotton into fine 80s and 100s yarns. That is where sateen gets its silky hand, soft drape and gentle sheen, and a figure on a label can never tell you that.
"Egyptian" is just a place
